One of the unique opportunities available to Rotaractors is the chance to participate in the Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange.  The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas. This year District 7010 is paired with District 3010 Delhi, India.

In October, members of Rotaract North Bay-Nipissing spent a Saturday hosting the team from India. The day began with a cross-cultural learning event complete with a medicine wheel teaching, smudging ceremony, drumming circle, a firsthand account of living in a residential school, followed by a Nipissing Pickerel fish fry in the Canadore Tee-Pee. Hosted by Roger Chum and sponsored by Canadore College Aboriginal Learning Unit.
Following lunch the team joined by a few Rotaractors travelled to Sturgeon Falls for an hour of skating. Greeted by West Nipissing Mayor Joanne Savage and Chief of West Nipissing Police, Chief Chuck Seguin, the team bravely donned hockey skates (and helmets) and stepped out on the ice.

No Canadian Saturday would be complete without a glimpse of “Hockey Night in Canada”. The team joined by more Rotaractors watched Washington beat the Toronto Maple Leafs while enjoying some truly Canadian food at Don Cherry’s.
